Total Concept is a Port Elizabeth based business that offers clients a Salon & Spa, as well as a Hair & Beauty Academy. With over 25 years of experience, they pride themselves on the level of service, knowledge and professionalism of all their therapists.

What is the point?
The original website for Total Concept Salon & Spa was cluttered and dated, making it a challenge for users to navigate. While the colour palette was comprised of gold and maroon. The team at Total Concept was looking for a complete overall on the original website with a new design that not only was modern and elegant but was also responsive and functional.

The Approach
Creating an Arabian Oasis.
Our primary goal when redesigning the Total Concept website was to create an overall design that evoked comfort and relaxation to the user.
We achieved this by firstly adopting a more soft and subtle colour palette that would give the user a sense of peace and calm as they navigate throughout the website. We also opted to use a border radius on all content boxes, imagery and buttons throughout the site as this encourages a more natural movement for both the head and eyes.
We finally placed micro-animations throughout the site to imitate the calming flow of water.
Appointments
Booking treatments made a whole lot easier.
Before clients that wanted to book a spa treatment either had to do so in person or telephonically. We added an online booking portal to the website that allows clients that added convenience to see a list of treatments that are on offer and the available time slots.
Academy
Information at your fingertips.
Total Concept also offers students a variety of world-class courses in the beauty health & skincare industry as well as hairdressing and barbering.
We added an online student portal for their Academy that makes it easier for students to keep track of their class attendance, assignments marks, outstanding fees, and any important announcements from their lecturers.
